Re: Cadillac CTS-V vs BMW M5

So the speed has to be up to 150 mph or so until the BMW can overtake the Caddy? No one will ever go that speed unless on a racetrack.

Re: Cadillac CTS-V vs BMW M5

CTS V smokes the M5....and with the manual tops out at 190mph????

i'd buy the automatic as thats how I prefer my four door sports sedans..

i do prefer BMW's dual clutch technology..

Hopefully GM will eventually see fit to offer this more fuel efficient technology ..(as well as offering better performance with it)

Torque vs HP/Gearing
The bottom line is the CTS will feel/be much faster in any realistic driving situation.

Re: Cadillac CTS-V vs BMW M5

Meh.

BMW has a limiter. CTS-V does not. And as far as I know, there is only 1 sedan in the world that is faster than the CTS-V.

M5 may gain more ground next year when it gets a power bump, making it all but equal to CTS-V.

The price differential between M5 and STS-V is about $3,500.
When STS-V dies, and CTS-V rightfully takes its place in the lineup as Cadillac's mid-size sedan, and gains STS-V's equipment, luxury, I would put money on the fact that CTS-V's price will all but match STS-V.

And that's the correct price for a car in this class.

Re: Cadillac CTS-V vs BMW M5

Price is where it needs to be, but Caddy needs to do something to earn that extra 20k.
Leather cover the leather, and then cover that in Alcantara...it needs to be that good.

Re: Cadillac CTS-V vs BMW M5

this mag is such an a***. they put a guy who is dancing like a girl there, first of,
they tried to say a base 911 is faster 0-60 than a Z-06, that was the last time I listened to them.

naa, you need to pay for the leather in the Biemer to touch while puffing the dust from the CTS V's rear,

Re: Cadillac CTS-V vs BMW M5

Both are very nice cars! its just most of the people that actually spend the time to check out auto related videos, arent in the same demographic as lexus drivers. Try to look at this video and you will tell that cadillac is much better compare to bmw which is just the same.

Re: Cadillac CTS-V vs BMW M5

At the very least, when the M5 gets redone the CTS-V needs all the goodies the LS-9 has in the ZR-1 and nothing less...

Whatever motor they got in this car should be the top motor for all Caddys. Caddys need V8s!
