    ATS 2-Door Coupe Reveal

Given the reveal I did on the darkened GM tease pic of the ATS I suppose I should do some possible coupe versions, so here they. It seems that GM will not offer a radical ATS Coupe like the CTS Coupe, but more a BMW 3 Series style 2-door sedan coupe. Above I give an example with the more angular rear side window line that was shown to people in a GM styling clinic.

These will really win over the bmw 3-series crowd.

Of course a lot depends upon if a Convertible ATS is to be part of the line-up. It's cheaper and easier to do a pillarless coupe if it's mated to a convertible, so they can share the side windows and doors. But this dictates a shorter fully-wind-down capable rear side window, and that dictates the styling. If no Convertible ATS then a pillar post coupe is cheaper, stronger and lighter to build; and it gives greater side styling options. The rear side glass can wind fully or partially down, hinge out or be fixed.

Hey, I did that because you always get the 'Concept' first with the huge wheels and super low profile tires.......

I'll sleep a little better when I see a pea green color with mustard colored pinstriping.

Meh, sedan looks much better than the coupe here.

Just doesnt flow well at all IMHO.
Just that time again to ignore certain people. I'm certain they will continue to try and instigate and antagonize while throwing up their arms saying they did nothing but are here on a civil basis. Not worth the time seeing how some just seem to know all.

I am sure the ATS coupe will be more dramatic, in true Cadillac fashion. But This is good work, nevertheless

That's an interesting comment but I don't quite understand it. I have posted the 4-door at the top just above the ordinary coupe version of it. And the lines and 'flow' are identical.

The third pic below them has the squared off rear side window line; but 'squared off' is an overstatement as the two are identical but for a single bend in the crome line over the side windows... Is that what breaks the flow for you?

The rear window just doesnt seem to fit. It looks far too large and makes the front door look like a mini-compact.

The squared off one fixes it a little bit but its still not "right".

    Know what I mean?

That looks better. I like what you did with the door.

    Beautiful as always...

but I have to tell you that a certain E350 class driving forum member will simply not approve of this. He will say that it looks like something that was designed in 2006. He will say that even though the Eclass looks like something that put together in from dead body parts of old cars in Transylvania 40 years ago... Cadillac can't pull it off because it doesn't command the same amount of cache.

Thanks for prompting me with your suggestion. I've also changed the red one's door handle as a possibility from the clinic mock-up. If it makes production - I don't know; given how conservative the sedan is compared to what it was going to be...
