Anyone around Lansing, MI

We expect you to get some 08 CTS pics this weekend , if they did start production today.

So the rumor is production started today, can anyone confirm they started? I know they will not start making cars for the public for a few weeks, but it would be nice if they finally got the process rolling.

It would be even nicer if they would launch the website that contained pricing, why this has not been done .

I thought they were delayed due to steering wheel supply issues?

That is the rumor, but I saw this thread earlier today and I am hoping they can started with non-wood if needed. There is testing to be done with the manufacturing process itself, it would suck if a piece of wood trim held that up.

1) As you say, saleable units won't be coming off the line for some weeks to come. Why get the public all hot and bothered about it when most dealers won't have one until September, and meaningful numbers in stock will take until late October?

2) Dealers' lots are chock-full of 2007 models. I'm sure Cadillac wants to concentrate on finding homes for these before banging the drum about the '08's.

And by the way, I can hardly wait to see one.

Where did you hear that? There are already many non-saleable units out there, as attested by all the sightings. I full expect the July 23rd (if that's the right date) production to be saleable units. All indications are that the car will be in dealerships by mid to late August.

Not around here.....the five closest dealers to me have exactly 5 2007 CTS' in stock. All of them the 2.8L variety.

Re: Anyone around Lansing, MI

I've passed by the shipping holding lots and saw what I believe were '08 CTS's. Might have been STS's though (I just noticed the fender vent)

Re: Anyone around Lansing, MI

I saw a white Diamond 2008 CTS4 parked on my street in Toronto this weekend with Michigan plates. It had the Direct Injection V6, HID headlamps and the hot wheels. Didn't have my camera at the time. It was stunning in person and I can't wait to get mine. My dealer is telling me mid to late August. Have ordered one in the Jewel Red with Ebony leather Interior w/ambient lighting, performance handling with 18"high polish wheels and DI V6. Can't freakin wait

Any talk on price? Or did you just agree to pay MSRP, whatever that winds up to be? Thanks.

I found out that production will start July 23rd from two sources: My dealer and someone I know in GM. They will build about 200 the first week. Probably 400 the second week. Mine is scheduled to be built on July 30th. Yes, I got the wood trim... including steering wheel.

You'll start to see these arriving at dealers mid August. Wont see much volume at dealerships, though, at least until October.

According to Automotive News Data Center, there is a 62 day supply of 2007 CTS's Nationwide.

But your quote was they won't be building saleable units "for some weeks to come". He said his is being built on July 30th. That's a week after the July 23rd production start. (or 19th, I've heard a few dates now).

In any case, if they don't get some product out soon the sales numbers are going to get ugly. No dealers near me have anything left on the 07's.

LOL, those pics were great. I am just want to cover all colors .

Actually I am interested in seeing if the light platinum is like the one that made the car show circuit that was silver? I have seen what the red (thanks to you), black and white look like in good pics, but not the light platinum.
