2008 XLR V on Ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cadil...QQcmdZViewItem

How hilarious are these clowns at GM that almost every Cadillac now has that ridiculous new steering wheel. It looks so out of place on this car. So sad that they couldn't muster up a couple of bucks to give the XLR its own steering wheel.

What is so "out of place" about the steering wheel?

I'm not the biggest fan of that steering wheel, but I don't see why XLR needs a separate one... XLR's closest competitor, Mecedes SL, has the same steering as all the other current/prior gen MBs.

I'm less worried about the steering wheel, more worried about those gages, in a $100,000 car.

Re: 2008 XLR V on Ebay

That steering wheel looks fine to me--I would prefer the one with the wood insert near the top, as on the base XLR models. If anything, I think a little more chrome could have been added to the exterior, something very subtle, perhaps a small, discrete "wreath and crest" either on the C-Pillar or above the "XLR" on the front quarter? In my opinion, it just looks rather bland with respect to chrome. I think the rear bumper chrome on the next-generation (2008) CTS is an example of the tasteful application of chrome on the Art & Science theme.

Re: 2008 XLR V on Ebay

Yeah, I actually think the steering wheel looks more appropriate in the XLR than in other Cadillacs. But otherwise, that car is killer...I love it! It's not without flaws (like ALL vehicles)..but somethings in the interior need to be addressed, like how the shifter blocks the HVAC controls while in park. I never really took the time to notice it when I sat in XLRs in the past (was too anxious to get it in Drive) but from pictures, it doesnt look good to me at all. The rest of the car, however, looks amazing to me. Cant wait to see a CTS styled front end adapted to the XLR..with all of the nice touches like the ambient lights an such

If I could afford this car, I wouldn't care one bit how the steering wheel looks. That is one beautiful ride!!

The only problem that I have with the XLRV is that I think the 2008 3LZ Corvette Z06 with 2-tone leather seating and dashes is 10-times the car, 100-times better looking and $15,000 cheaper. And the only reason I take issue is that the roll off the same line.

A Cadillac vette should be one of the nicest cars in the world.

I wish they would have focused on the XLR through out the years than leave it sit.

I agree. The steering wheels doesn't look too bad on this. I am just surprised that it is $12,000 off the MSRP at a buy it now price. Thats pretty good sounding. lol
