2007 Escalade Debut in Miami

Quote:
SOUTH FLORIDA AUTO SHOW UNFAZED BY HURRICANE

Despite the recent impact of hurricane Wilma, one of the nation's largest auto shows will open on schedule Friday, November 4 in the Miami Beach Convention Center. The South Florida International Auto Show presented by Progressive Direct will exhibit more than 1,000 of the industry's newest models.

"The storm is gone, power is up, and the new cars are on their way," said Rick Baker, executive vice president of the South Florida Auto/Truck Dealers Association, sponsor of the 10-day show. "We expect lots of Wilma-weary people to visit the show. It's something the whole family can enjoy. And everyone needs a break after this hurricane."

Some lucky person will win a customized new 2005 Scion tC, this year's giveaway car courtesy of Toyota, Southeast Toyota Distributors (SET) and Automundo Magazine. The show will fill one-million square feet with the newest 2006/2007 cars, trucks and accessories along with exotic motorcars in Million Dollar Alley, antiques in Memory Lane and beautiful bikes in Motorcycle Row. Press events will include the auto show debut of the all-new 2007 Cadillac Escalade and new models from Ferrari, Ford, Hyundai, Lincoln-Mercury, Maserati, Nissan and Subaru.

Tickets to this year's show are $10 for adults and $3 for children 6-12. Discount tickets to the show are available at participating new car and truck dealerships and McDonald's restaurants in Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

The South Florida Auto-Truck Dealers Association, comprising more than 220 dealerships in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Monroe counties, has been the official sponsor of the South Florida International Auto Show since 1971.

For more information on this year's event, contact Show Coordinator Cliff Ray at 305-947-5950.

Pretty cool!

Re: 2007 Escalade Debut in Miami

I always go to the Miami Show, but due to my recent knee surgery, can't make it this year.

Funny how I had this on my calendar for months as starting next weekend, not this weekend. GM apparently had the same mixup; I received a card in the mail last month inviting me to the Stockholder Forum on the morning of the 12th. And it's always the first Saturday of the Show. So, it's not just me...

The Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show was postponed from last weekend due to Wilma to this weekend; they swore they would never overlap the two ever again. Because, the Boat Show always saps attendance from the Auto Show.

Guess I can wait for the Ft. Lauderdale Auto Show in March, and maybe, finally, a Palm Beach International Auto Show (which was promised last year, but the kiddies at Northwood University objected; tough sh***t, kiddies!!) in April in our brand-new convention center.

I'm tired of driving to Miami anyway. Not exactly my dream destination.

Re: 2007 Escalade Debut in Miami

Well that show is right on my backyard (is actually a few blocks away from were I used to live) so I promise a lot of un-editorialized pics of the new Escalade as well as of the other new cars. Can't wait. I was invited to the Lexus event for the new IS but haven't been invited to any other party . . .

EDIT: I am also invited to the Volkswagen Rhyme Rhythm and Risas party tonight.

I'm dying to see it too. And GM, put that 6.6L Diesel V-8 as an option for European versions!

But then again, all those cars have "fart burners" on them. That "fart burner" ads 5-10HP to your car ;some of those small Hondas can whip a Vett off the line. (from anti-rice.com)
So 115hp+10hp=430hp, at least in ricerland

Question Re: 2007 Escalade Debut in Miami

What's gonna be its new name?
Will it continue to be called as Escalade or have a new 3 character name?

Anybody answer this, please!

Even GM is refering to the 2007 model as the "Escalade." So I'm pretty sure it is still going to be named Escalade.
