2007 Buick Lucerne - Are the seat heaters bad?

I read an article on Edumunds.com saying that a 2006 Buick Lucerne's heated seats caused them burn pain. Any 06/07 Lucerne owners/drivers experience this? I don't want the relatives going to the hospital for burns.

Re: 2007 Buick Lucerne - Are the seat heaters bad?

My Lucerne CSX gets very warm if I leave it on high. I end up only putting on high for a few minutes then turn down. I am not sure of burns from the heat, but its very warm.

That sounds retarded -- it's not like seats heat up spontaneously. If it starts getting too hot, lower the heat level or turn it off.

After all, if you are wearing thick clothing in cold weather, you probably do want the heaters high to feel any warmth through the clothing layers, so there does need to be a high setting.
