Re: 1999 Buick Regal GS

Nice car. I like it. I definitely think it's worth the money.

But $306 a month for insurance on a Regal GS is crazy. I could see that for a Camaro or Mustang GT for an 18 year old, but a Regal GS? I would call around. The GS isn't usually classified as high risk since it has a (typically) older clientelle.

Im freaking angry. Haha, thanks.
Is that $306 really per month or per every 6 months? If it is per month, that is absolutely outrageous. If that is every 6 months, I would say that is perfectly reasonable.

Anyways....I have had both a 98 Regal LS (non-S/C) and a 2003 Regal GS (S/C). They were both great cars with lots of power. The GS was a monster. The only thing I did was put in a K&N filter and it would put you in your seat. I loved that car and wish I still had it. The stock chrome wheels I thought were beautiful too...

Its 306 per month, and apparently its that high if the car is under my name, not my parents...Should it really be that high?

That doesn't sound all that unfeasible considering you're young and have had a ticket. Perhaps have your parents register and insure the car under their names.

Re: 1999 Buick Regal GS

Well, guys..doesn't look like I'm going to be able to get the car. It would take a lot, and I don't I can get the $ in time and I know it would be too much for my parents. But thanks a lot for the information. Ill be sure to consider one of these as my first car. Especially if I can find one for this awesome of a deal.

Awww, that's too bad. They're such nice cars. I still kinda want one.

Your insurance quote does seem a bit high, did you end up shopping around? Did you see what it would be for a non-supercharged version, or an Olds Intrigue of the same vintage? Was it the supercharger that jacked up the premiums? A guy I used to work with had a daughter that wrote off a car, so when looking for another one to replace it he asked the insurance company which ones were the least expensive to insure. They told him Buick Century, Buick Regal, Buick LeSabre, Oldsmobile Intrigue, Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight. WHich was good for him He owned an Eighty-Eight and she wrote-off a Century. He ended up getting an Intrigue and later sold the Eighty-Eight and got a LeSabre, I think. He loved the old W and H body cars.

Re: 1999 Buick Regal GS

When you get a chance again, be sure to pick up a GS. I've had mine since July and love it. It'll do 0-60 in 6.7 seconds with the automatic climate control set to 74*, get 28 mpg on the highway while cranking out Dire Straits' Telegraph Road on it's 220 watt 8 speaker Monsoon stereo system. It's the perfect combination of luxury, performance, economy and reliability.

Re: 1999 Buick Regal GS

I had a 95 regal and loved it until it blew up, then she was never the same again after that...

wanted a supercharged riviera for the longest time but those things are hard to find in canada with low mileage.

Man I had a feeling this was Chad after reading that paragraph haha. The Monsoon systems on these cars are extremely impressive.
