I think we already know that this car won't be with us until mid 2011 at the earliest. And the next Impala is FWD, though it may be more than 18 months out.

A new G6 on EPsilon II ?

A new Impala (perhaps), probably a stretched EPII.

GMC Terrain Crossover, and a new Equinox on the same platform.

...that's 14. And keeping in mind that 18 months from now is December 2009.

You meant early 2010, didn't you? We are lauching the Buick early next year, and not start working on the Aura till next October.

Saturn gets a new Aura before Pontiac gets a new G6? Sheesh!

I wonder if Pontiac will have to wait for the Alpha platform cars in 2011/12 before the current G6 is replaced?

If that's the case then there should have been a G6 replacement out this year. There's no way that a car that's not competitive today will last until 2011 or 2012. Heck, bring the Epica to the US, slap on a twin-port grille and throw a V6 in it. The G6 needs a redo... left much longer and they'll have to drop the name just like the did Grand Am and start over from zero again.

Re: 14 New GM Cars in Next 18 Months: Any Cadillacs?

I will just cross my fingers that none will be another Holden nose clip rebadge like the G-8 that, for me, is a profound disappointment for both Pontiac and GM. But I am fearful that the next Caprice/Impala could be just that.

I see the Epica on a fairly daily basis, and as stale as the G6 is getting, it's a lot nicer than the Epica.
G6 should get an MCE, if even a mild one, next year, if it's to solider on to 2010/11.
Revise the front and rear clips a little, spruce of the interior a bit (should be a lot, but realistically....). And body cladding is always cheap.... oh wait...

Oprah could give away a crapton like she did with the G6 when it first came out.

Saturn is in line with those german counterparts from Opel.

If they are going to do it half assed, then they might as well not replace the G6 at all.

This automatic only for the epsilon cars is a crummy rule. Pontiac and/or Saturn should have one...at least on the 4 cylinders.

Pontiac will probably have to wait until the new Malibu arrives in a few years.

I find it funny how these riced-out civics have a bunch of plastic cladding type crap and stickers on them and its cool, yet Pontiac has been doing it for years from the factory and everyone rips on it.

For the record, I don't like it on any car.

Pontiac should just be killed anyway, the aura and astra would have been great for the brand.

Just give Chevy the Commodore and call it a day.
