Considering that the Astra shares nothing with the G5, I would assume it isn't the same.

BTW, congrats on the Astra.

Manuals the only way to go. I was considering getting a used car to save money, but I could not find a manual I liked. Im glad I didnt do that cuz I love this car.

Re: Picked up the Astra

SirRaven,

Beautiful Car!!!

My wife likes the same color and trim package. The only thing she wants is the automatic (She knows how to drive a stick, but is tired of rowing...).

She liked the 3dr. However, We have to wait for a 5 dr to test drive
(dealer received one with a broken transmission line, waiting on parts).

Yep, especially because for power you need to run the engine a little fast.

The automatic slugs along in the 2000's and doesn't have the pep a manaul driver gets when he leaves it above 3000.

Re: Picked up the Astra

Awesome car. Welcome to the Saturn family...

I was wondering why the 30MPH and 70MPH markings on the speedo had red hashes. Is this a European thing, or does the US have some law that mandates that these spots on the speedo be mark to discourage speeding (or remind drivers that city roads have a 30MPH limit (do they?))

That is what my Malibu is rated for...You would think it would be better on gas.

Very nice car. Saturn is really getting better than it use to be. Does Saturn still have plastic body panels?

Re: Picked up the Astra

Nice car. I love the blue and the huge sunroof. I'm pretty sure the coolant temp is in the DIC. My Buick has it in both the DIC and in the gauges. I prefer the digital readout in the DIC it actually gives the temp instead of just a bunch of lines.
