Father's New Solstice!!! (56k warning) (Update pic)

My father purchased a new 07 Solstice on Tuesday, so I thought I would show you some pics of it. The car is black with a tan top. It is absolutely beautiful but extremely small. It is definitely not made for large people, lol!

The quality of this car is amazing. Hardly any wind noise at highway speeds. The doors have that quality sound when their shut. GM did a really good job on this car. I will post more pics when imageshack stops being an a**.

That is one awesome looking car. I tried to fit into one at an auto show. At 6' and 260 lbs, I was squished in there. Didnt even try to close the door. Your dad is going to enjoy getting looks everywhere he goes! Congrats!

Yeah, I am 6', 270lbs and its an extremely tight fit. I have to tilt my head a little to sit in it.

Sweet car.

Now get that horrid dealership sticker off the rear.

Congrats to your dad on his new ride. I love the sostice and am considering one myself, but I'm waiting to see the new Camaro before I decide for sure.

Re: Father's New Solstice!!! (56k warning)

Looks very very nice - I think I'd go with a black hood, as it looks a little out of place IMO, but still very tasty.

Not sure about the interior personally - looks a little shiny and rattly and, errrm, tacky (IMO) to be honest though it's a sound design. The other thing I noticed was the hood - what a peculiar design with the flat bit and the weird butress thing going on with it - bit odd and ungainly if you ask me!

Never mind, I like it very much (as you all know, I wish GM had had the sense to import the GT of even better the Solstice to the UK) and I suspect he'll have many happy motoring miles in it!

Re: Father's New Solstice!!! (56k warning)

Good, he got the auto. Now he can't complain about "the shifter feel" like all the whiny editors.

What's the wind noise like with the top up? Is it quiet enough to still be able to speak at a normal level?

And tomprice... why are you picking this car apart? The thing is freaking gorgeous inside and out. And for the price it's at, there's no reason to complain about anything.

Re: Father's New Solstice!!! (56k warning)

Not into cars at the moment but that thing's sweet, the tail lights look better than the sky. I was at a job site and they had a mobile glass outfit changing windshields on a sky, I thoroughly checked it out very nice and priced right. Enjoy.

Because I'm just noticing the parts I haven't noticed before!

I'm not sure about the inside, being used to an Audi, but the outside is, I agree, far better than anything you can currently buy.

It's even prettier than its sister, the Opel GT. Just a pity no-one at GM thought of the souls in the UK that were expecting a follow up to the magnificent VX and just left them to other brands

Don't get me wrong, I love this car, I really do. I wonder how much it would cost to import one..?

Yeah, my father test drove one with a manual, but since the car is so small the clutch is extremely close to the brake. If your not careful, you'll hit the brake while pressing in the clutch. So, he decided on the auto.

There is hardly any wind noise in this car which really surprised me. I got it up to 60 mph and hardly any at all. Its very easy to carry on a conversation with the person sitting next to you.
