What will gas prices settle at over the course of this summer

What figure do you think gas prices will settle at over the course of this summer?

I think it may go over $4 this summer.

$3.50 average! Hopefully not $4.00/gallon.

I'm hoping it's not gonna be at $4, but the way things are going I think it might be. Time to investigate the oil companies? I think so.

The time to investigate them began back on August 30th, 2005. Katrina hit the day before, took out 20% of our oil capacity, prices mysteriously jumped more than 20%.

I voted $3-4.

Agree. We've been over $3 for... I forget the last time it was under.
I voted 4-to-5
but that's IF there aren't any bad hurricanes, refineries going Boom, world leader getting a hangnail, or petro-exec getting a new catalog in the mail...

Re: What will gas prices settle at over this summer

~$3.50

Then it'll go back down to $3.00 and we'll all be like "Woah! What a relief that gas prices are finally super-low again!" and it'll go on like that until we're at $4.00 a gallon.

Are you kidding me? Mysteriously jumped? Yeh, because 20% of the supply was taken out creating a lower supply, which always drives up price and demand. Another thing, the companies don't decide the price of oil. The stock markets of the world decide it. What they set the price as depends on what analysts say about the world, supplys, stuff happening in the middle east and such.

Re: What will gas prices settle at over this summer

Prices here in Toronto jumped to over $1 a litre, which is quite the surprise as the fire in the two oil refineries have long been settled and the CN Rail Strike is in the archives by now.

I say mysteriously jumped with a heavy dose of sarcasm.
