    To the SS Doubters...

    http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/f...ng-dna-116415/

Each time I reported that the Commodore would return, some felt the need to slam the report as BS.

GMI called this car, down to the engine and market position, back in 2010.

    That is all.

    Re: To the SS Doubters...

Bob Lutz said the car was coming back (obviously as a Chevy) in 2009.

However, I do give credit for the call on the LS3 and the premium market position call. Though it was not that hard to see why that would be the case.
"The car's brilliant and ... a great surprise, pleasant surprise for all Corvette lovers everywhere ... a huge shock to our competitors ... because I don't think anybody was expecting something that good. What pleases me the most about it was that ... I can say this is the first car that's come out, that was done since I left.

I never had any doubt that it would be back, BUT ....... I remember a little something about Z2RC and Z2WC as well. We know what was just said about Z2RC as well.

So if you knew, GM had to know as well. Are you telling me it has taken them 3 friggin years and all they could come up with was SS for a name?? I swear- I don't know why I root for this company sometimes!

Good job Nick. Your major award is on the way...

Oh yes it did. Yeah its on VF not VE (correct?) but it still has the same carryover powertrain from the G8.

Has gmi known that no manual was going to be offered? Seems like a fairly hot issue on the car so far and I gotta admit, I was pretty surprised by it. Otherwise, I actually love the looks

I also predicted that this car when it debuted would be desired right up until the point that it debuted, and then posters would call for GM management's heads.
I want a car so violent that the mere thought of full throttle would cause a heart attack. That actually going wide open throttle in would result in nothing less than instant death!
