same car as above at Gnoo Blas, Feb 1960 L>R: Ron Hodgson, Bill Pitt, David McKay

To one-up your pic: instead of 'Jag towing trailer' here's a Jag towing trailered Jag!

Don't know about the Lion park but I do know that he was living in Voctoria and used to work near the Shannons dealership. Possibly had his own car dealers?

It was just a brief chat, but he did say that Shannons insures the old Caddy when RACQ wouldn't touch it. He's had one accident with it where he bent a VH era Commodore in half, but could still drive his rig home.

Re: Spotted!

thanks Nota, that is the same car.
Don't know how well naming something "The Grey *****" would go down today!

I was correct with David McKay, that was a good guess. Then Ron Hodgson and Geoghan (sp). Famous car, famous drivers. I'm a 1962 model so I never saw it first hand, just know it from books etc.
Funny the hassle over the Ampol stripes, though I remember the strife Moffatt went through over daring to have a verb on the Coke Mustang. Seems petty these days.

My M100 Elan and Elise side by side. Those stains on the ground were there before...I think .

The Elan is getting a donor engine, and should be road going before the end of the year.

To give you an idea how small the Elise is, the Elan is 1" shorter and a couple of inches lower than the MX5 Miata of the same era.

Re: Spotted!

Nice garage m100. I saw an Elise (though black with a brown leather interior) at a service station the other day. It was amusing watching they guy get out. It was even more amusing watching him take off!

Re: Spotted!

Thanks, now that I have the Astra, the Elise spends most of its days exclusively at the area race tracks. I initially wanted to get a Caterham and have the Elan as a daily driver, but as the Elan started having more problems and parts harder to come by , I had to pick up a car that was a tad more practical than a Caterham.

I was really hoping that GM would have brought over the Opel Speedster/Vauxhall 220,as it was much cheaper than the Elise, and has imho a superior engine (Ecotec) vs. the rather mediocre (and rather problematic) Toyota 2zz-ge lump (they have been prone to high speed cam lobe failures on Elises and Exiges).

Re: Spotted!

On the way home from work I sa a 6 wheeler Rodeo, but not a table top. It had a ute style tray with two wheel arches. I'm guessing a fusing of two trays, one front section to just aft of the wheel & one rear section to just forward of the wheel arch. It was a mid 90s Rodeo. Looked a little funny, we were both in motion so I couldn't get a pic.
Never seen one of these before.

Wait...I can figure this one out...

OK you saw it at a restaurant, but there were no table tops, just trays and two arches...It was at a McDonald's drive-thru! Did I get it right?
