Smile Spotted!

Over the weekend I spotted a couple of rarities.

Firstly, a dealer local to my work has a Isuzu engined FWD Lotus Elan for sale. $27,990 I think, that'd be for the badge.

Then yesterday, waiting at a red light while this turned across me. A current 300c 4dr convertible in white, looks like it was being used as a wedding car (no bride inside) and roof down. Looked better with the roof off. Gee that conversion must have cost a bit!

Re: Spotted

Are you sure it was a real conversion? It may have been just a nice straight cut job for fair-weather only rentals.

How did they do the door windows?

Ha! I saw a yellow Elan a couple of weeks ago. I hadn't seen one in years!

The local Chrysler dealer sells 300 convertible conversions.

I saw an Elan in traffic the other day, too. I can't remember the last time I'd seen one.

Re: Spotted

Yesterday, I saw an yellow SSR driving southbound on the Gateway Bridge.

I understand now, why it did not sell. It looks terrible!

Ya, there's a purple one around here. Good(ish) idea, bad execution. I thought they were fugly! At least they had a real motor, unlike the Prowler, which I used to see around quite a bit.

Yes, but living in the country it was sold in must help that.

The SSR was never sold in Australia.
