Re: Real world MPG
We've only put about 250 miles on our G6 and we seem to average 25.5 in mixed driving. On a recent trip to Cabot (about 45 miles of mostly interstate and non-interstate highway) we managed to get 29.6 on the DIC. It was still creeping up, though. I recently drove from Little Rock to Destin, FL and managed 28.9 mpg out of my sister-in-laws Altima. If I had the G6 for that trip I could have easily topped 30. I usually drive to get the best fuel economy anyway. My old '93 Taurus 3.8 would regularly average 30 mpg, well above its 17/25 rating.

Re: Real world MPG
lol, I think the fastest I had was ~110 mph......but I don't remember if it was governed, or if I just didn't have a reason to keep pushing. Mine was a 2.0 Zetec I4 with 5 speed manual!

Re: Real world MPG
Took a 4 hour trip to Council Bluffs to see Heart/Journey/Cheap Trick last night, 500 miles round trip. I thought of this thread during my trip. When I got to Council Bluffs I saw 25.5 mpg Average in my '02 Z06. That incudes a little city driving but mainly highway. It's amazing, I can drive 250 miles on just under half a tank. That's a tank with a capacity of 16.3 gals. I drove to KC last summer to get some fireworks and B-BQ, 300 miles, and got there with just under a half tank left.
On the trip back to Cedar I put in just over a half tank and reset the DIC once I got on the interstate. With purely highway drving at 75 mph I got 28.4 Average mpg just before pulling off the interstate. I do see my DIC tick up when I slow down to 65 mph near cities, and when I get slowed up by trucks. But, 28 mpg out of a 405 hp V-8 is pretty damn impressive. I feel no guilt when passing Camry's and RAV4's.

Re: Real world MPG
I filled up yesterday and my average was 22.5 mpg. I guess those city trips really brought down the average from a long, steady highway excursion to and from Cedar Point.
