Re: Real world MPG

04 V6 Accord I think is rated for 19/28. I've been getting 23mpg in city and rural driving with no extended highway visits (small state and I95 sucks most times). Driving 1600miles round trip to/from Michigan in a couple weeks, will certainly have highway numbers then lol.

'94 Plymouth Voyager 3.0L V6......rated at 16city/22hwy under the new rules.

Have been using it as a commuter lately, wandering around town & to-from work.....have been getting anywhere from 18-20 though if I relax my right foot

2008 Chevy Impala 2LT running E85: EPA 13 city, 20 hwy, 16 combined. So far I've averaged 23.0 mpg over 6,327 miles, running soley on E85 while keeping to a max speed of 55 mph. My commute is about 85% highway, 50 miles one way.

Re: Real world MPG

My 1993 ford mustang gt with 173k miles averages about 20 miles/gallon (mostly highway w/traffic). It was rated at 15/22 when it came out. I don't believe I have ever got as low as 15 even with all city driving. While my car doesn't get great gas mileage, it is funny when I tell people what I get because most assume I get in the single digits due to the v8.

Re: Real world MPG

My 06 T&C gets about 22-23 average. Will get 24 on highway. My 99 GMC gets 17 average, 18-19 on straight highway driving. My 83 Nissan 4x4 gets between 18-23, regardless of how or where! Now the sick part: My work provided vehicle, an 07 Silverado 2500 with 6.0 gets around 8-9 with lots of starts, stops, idling. I have seen it get 13 on the highway, though. It does have 4.10 gears, which I'm sure doesn't help.

Your mileage is pretty close to what I see in my cars. Not surprising though since they are a 2004 Malibu 2.2 Ecotec and a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.3 V6 . The highest I have seen on my Malibu is 36.2 and on my GC 25.8 (both calculated manually). I got those both when we moved from WI to CA two years ago. That tank on both was all Interstate. I was really surprised about the GC because I had a couple bikes on a trailer hitch mounted bike rack for that trip.

Re: Real world MPG

27/35 EPA sticker for MY 2007.
I've been getting 30.8 through five tanks, about 60/40 town/highway.
Best was 36.6 and worst tank was 21.9.

These Malibu 2.2s are getting some pretty impressive MPGs.

Re: Real world MPG

What the hey, I'll play along.

My 2004 GTO, which has a few modifications (healthy cam, long tuber headers, etc. Dyno'd at 383 RWHP) gets about 18 mpg in what I'll call suburban driving. Last week I took it for an interstate run (Baton Rouge to Slidell) and got right at 25 mpg. Pre cam, I was able to get nearly 30 mpg on interstate runs.

My wife's 2007 G6 GTP (3.6-liter V6) averages about 24 mog around town and up to 31 on the highway.

I also have an '03 S10 with the 4.3 liter V6, but I haven't figured the mileage on it yet.

Re: Real world MPG

2004 9-3 Aero (manual), I think its now rated 29 which is just plain laughable. I easily achieve 33 on a highway trip and occasionaly 34 and 35. On average I have a good mix of highway/city driving and driving nicely, I average about 28/29 and driving like a bat out of of hell 24 to 26.

Re: Real world MPG

My wifes '06 Ion get's about 24 city (me driving) or 26 City (her driving) and about 35-38 on the Highway (either one of us driving) at 70-80mph. The best that little car has turned out was 42 highway from Colorado Springs, CO to Luther, OK.

My '01 Suburban will get 13 mpg Hihway or City. Doesn't matter. Honestly I think there is something wrong with it. Cause I can drive all highway with nothing on the roof and no trailer and get 13 mpg highway, but throw in 700lbs on the roof and 6,500lbs on a trailer and it still gets 13 mpg's. Weird.

Why do I get an unsettling feeling that Europeans will laugh the **** out of the numbers you guys have posted? I'm not doing that, by the way, just thinking.
