    My 1992 Chevrolet lumina z34

Hi, This is my 1992 Chevrolet Lumina z34 with the Getrag 5 speed that I inherited from my grandfather. she only had 31,000 miles on her when I got her in November of 2010. She is not my daily driver just a car I take to car cruises and a weekend cruise.Know she has 40,000 miles. The car has never seen salt, snow or any bad weather. This car has the i LQ1 v6 which as a few people knows they are hard to work on. But when they are running right they are a pretty quick car. well here are some pics of my sentimental ride.

Nice looking Z34! Man that thing is clean. I always liked those early 90s W-bodies (had two myself, a Regal coupe and Cutlass Supreme coupe). I liked the door handles in the B-pillar, gave the doors a "shaved" look. Nice and clean! But what I find most impressive is not only does it have a cassette deck, but you actually use it! Where's the engine pic?

That is a pretty rare car. Great shape too. I remember driving one back in 92 and it was really something back then.

I'm not sure if you should worry about the age of the timing belts, but if I was you I would look into it. That is a maintenance item on these and if they fail it's VERY expensive. If one can even get all the parts new anymore...

    Once again. Great looking ride!

Thanks, Ya before I got the car my grandfather changed the belts so the belts only has about 9,000 miles on them. Driving these cars with sticks are pretty cool. I surprised some older 5.0 mustangs. This car was ahead of it`s time with it`s valve train arrangement and 7,000 rpm redline. I suess you could say around 4,000-6,000 rpm it`s mechanical music lol.

Cleanest Lumina Z-34 I've seen since I was kid. I remember when they were brand new on the showroom when my grandad took me with him to get his new '93 Corsica. Keep it clean & original man, don't rack the mileage up too high and take it to Barrett Jackson in a few decades

Yeah the timing belt was changed. My grandfather always kept this car in great working order.

Going off of memory the 5 speed was only available the first year...

And like you say, it sounds pretty nice at 6 grand+. I recall dropping into third to pass a guy on a two lane and being surprised by not only the power but the sound.

Certainly a lot different than a 3.1 all the way around!

That`s a pretty good article on the Z34. It does not say but the 5 speed models have 210 horsepower and the auto Z`s get 200. Which is the early 90`s was very respectable numbers.

Well they must have made them in 1992 because it says on the window sticker 5 speed manual trans. But my grandfather bought her in Nov. of 1991 if that means anything ?
