Mary Kay Upgrades To Pink Escalades

Mary Kay Upgrades To Pink Escalades

Remember back in the 1980s and 1990s when Mary Kay used to give their top saleswomen pink Cadillacs? Now that its 2011, they’ve upgraded to SUVs, and a lucky group of winners got to take a tour of the GM plant where their all-new pink Escalades were coming off the line.

In total, 44 of these pink Escalades were given out to lucky Mary Kay cosmetic reps. It’s great to see that the classic Cadillac incentive has been updated, we’re just not sure that we’d be seen driving a pink Escalade. Yes, it is a company car of sorts and it will be used to help promote the business, but won’t someone please think of the children and the husbands who have to be seen in it? And sure, it could be worse – the tone of pink could be a garish Pepto-Bismol hue instead of a flirty rose blush.

Here’s a question for those of you who may have some Mary Kay kind of insight – how long do you have to wait before you can paint them? Is there a stipulation that says that you must wait a year before going silver?

Cadillac actually does the repainting once the lease is up. So there will be no Mary Kay pink Escalades on our nation's certified used lots...and thank god for that.

This is what happens when you paint an SUV pink:

I've seen a pink CTS up close, parked on the street.

    It's horrifying.

You'd have a different opinion if your name was Barbie or Bambi.

The cars are leased by MK for their saleswomen, so you dont keep the car, you have to maintain your sales to keep a company car, and since the car is a lease, when the miles or lease is up, you turn it, I remember taking several MK company cars lease turn in when sold Pontiacs, back then their starter car was a Grand Am, not pink, but the next step up was a pink Grand Prix, then I think you moved up to the Cadillacs, and as someone else mentioned, they do get re-painted before their sold again.

    That sounds aftermarket.

The pale Mary Kay pink is special.

Merci Stéphane, Natalie & Bruce's versions are my faves, in that order.

Saw a pink MK CTS a few years back. Real nice.

There's just something about a pink Caddy! Mmmmmmmmmm!

Buick, gotta admit, that XLR looks pretty sharp!
