I was going to suggest a near new or demo Aura, but for the dosh a Buick 3800 would be chance to fill your criteria.

Re: I Need Your Help!

You could probably find a nice 2005ish Cobalt sedan for that money. That would satisfy your fuel economy requirement at least. But if her work is only three miles away she could probably find a nice SUV and feel a little safer.

Re: I Need Your Help!

I'd recommend a late model Buick Regal or LeSabre as a great replacement. As a matter of fact, I find the Regal's share alot of the similarities the Seville and Aurora do. Clean design, extremely comfortable interior, decent handling... plus the Regal really doesn't have the stigma that LeSabre or Park Avenue would have.

I see plenty of super low mileage Regal's going for $6-7k... some in Supercharged form.

Re: I Need Your Help!

I still stand by the VUE mention though I don't know how well it would go with that price range. And as others mentioned an Epsilon-based model would be good, particularly an Ecotec Malibu.
If people are pushing largeish midsize cars, there's always the Ford Taurus. 2003+ is supposed to be better quality from what some have mentioned on this forum.

Glad your mum is good after the crash. You should always get checked after getting whacked, no matter how good you feel.

I think a Grand Prix GXP or LaCrosse Super is just the ticket. No pun intended.

The Panthers are better big cars from Ford. They're more reliable and more enjoyable to drive.

Yeah, she went to the doctor, just in case, he said she was fine.

Good ideas everybody. Thanks for your help.
