Has Anyone Seen Some Great Auto Deals?
Is anyone getting tempted to go out and see what kind of deal they could get now on a new vehicle? There's got to be some killer deals out there right now with the economy as it is, and with the usual holiday season lull in car sales.
I was planning on looking at new the Camaro, Challenger, and the Solstice coupe in spring, although I may not actually buy anything for 1.5 to 2 years. But it's getting very tempting to look. I wish that the Camaro and Solstice coupe were available now. I was thinking of looking at the SKY and Solstice this weekend. I bet there's some incredible deals, particularly on an '08.

Re: Has Anyone Seen Some Great Auto Deals?
I could buy a 2008 Ford Fusion SEL 4-cylinder for $13,995. That is with 22,000 miles, heated leather seats, sunroof, CD changer, SYNC, and all the airbags. With the kind of negotiating room in the price that is commonplace today, I bet I could go out the door for $13,000. If I sold my car for $11,000, a hopeful price, my additional cost would be $2,000. I would get a year old car with most of the fixings mine has, great mileage, and a good reliability record for a steal compared to other midsize cars.
What's keeping me back? A 27 mpg car is not that good. Sure, that's 5 mpg better than my car, but who knows how long gas will be cheap. When gas hits $4 again and more and more cars will be getting closer the congressional mileage mandates, 27 mpg does not seem that great, especially with a new Fusion due soon that will average several mpg better with a more powerful engine and a superior transmission. The 2.3/5-speed auto combo has been noted by the magazines to be a noisy, abruptly-shifting combo. I should wait until I am done with school, with my Masters' degree, before I get a new car. I could have enough saved up to buy a brand new Fiesta or Focus, two cars that look to be very appealing in 2012. They will be vehicles Ford has intergrated worldwide, therefore meaning a great focus (ba-dum ching) on fuel economy.

Re: Has Anyone Seen Some Great Auto Deals?
Not so sure about getting a Sebring, not my fave. The Sonata is a steal at that price. One of the few cars I would be willing to pay a few bucks more. Solid ride, really reliable and good on gas. Too often overlooked. Recently my local dealer was willing to knock off about $8500 on an '08 Outlook. Not bad but they could easily have done $12000 off.....lol.

Re: Has Anyone Seen Some Great Auto Deals?
You can get an Outlook for under $28,000 CAD now and they still arent selling. By the end of the year the incentives should get pretty crazy.

To compare I have here a 1991 Saab convertible, basically the same equipment, size of car as the 20k$ Sebring, except I have leather seats (and turbo) but in 1991 my car cost like 45k$ in 1991 dollars ![]() Outlook blah this car is boring and fat. I see them around, they are always white, they look like cows... the new VUE is way nicer actually very nice though The Sonata is pretty uninteresting to me in 4 cyl but in V6 it is pretty awesome! I would get one, beige, and drag-race all the Hondtards with their spoilers and fartcans, the Sonata will eat all of them with that big V6 and not even look like it knew it was racing But in reality I wouldn't have any real opportunity to do that so why spend the money... |

Numerous E-class, mostly E500s, some E55s, 2 E63s. 500s under $17k and an E63 for $48k. Those are good-guy prices, but I passed. Maybe for my wife, but I'd really rather have a '67 Chevelle.
