stopped on the highway in a traffic jam, and someone trying to switch lanes doesnt get room, and lands in my trunk. she must have been going about 20-25mph as she really didnt have time to slow down.

car doesnt look that bad but there are creases in my c pillar. does that mean anything????

btw i was coming home to wash my car and put my prancing moose sticker on, o well

the yay in the title is sarcastic fyi

Those Saabs are tanks! Glad you are fine

My uncle got rear-ended by a trucker going about 60 km/h on the highway, walked out without a scratch.

Whoa. The amount of damage on those cars is so disproportional. The Saab must be pretty sturdy.

C pillar sounds like a total job is your next news.

I don't know what "okay" means, but after this type impact you should ALWAYS visit your doc. Get the incident in the record, get some x-rays.

One of my former commanders was involved in a collision and also thought he was OK.
About a week later he could hardly get out of bed.
Later exams determined some displacements took place in neck vertebrae.
Surgery IIRC, he could have ended up in very very bad shape.

Never assume you're OK after a 20 MPH impact. You should have medical followup and the paper trail that that creates.

That's pretty typical of a rear-end impact. The colliding car rides under the car it hits, curling up the hood and so forth.

Re: Got in an Accident, YAY!!!!** (with pics)

c pillar crease is almost definite structural damage which will likely lead your insurance to total the car ... I hope you will have a chance to say your goodbyes.

That Mazda3 looks pretty beat up - almost did not recognize it! Looking at the way your underbody is mangled up BrickTamland is correct .. her nose dove as she broke, and she hit you really really low. and dove underneath.

I hope the doctor will have better news than the insurance assessor (BTW - insist on the car being totaled - with that damage you will not be able to sell the car, and in new accident it may be unsafe!)

Thats because its a solara! Wonder if her accelerator got stuck? lol

Glad to know your OK! In a way I wish my car would get totalled, I would get a crap load more than if I tried selling it. But I dont want to be driving it or hit anything, I just want a rock to fall out of the sky overnight while Im not in it lol.

Re: Got in an Accident, YAY!!!!** (with pics)

That really sucks. The same thing happened to my Jeep earlier this summer and believe me, rear end damage gets real expensive real fast. And I hate to say it, but the fact that your c-pillar is creased suggests damage that might not be able to be fixed at any price.
Also, going to the doctor is a very good idea.
