GM Getting Hammered almost every night on Conan's Tonight Show
Has anyone else noticed this? It's not just bankruptcy related, either.
From discussion of the Transformers Movie and how the GM cars are all "lemons" (a couple of jokes on this through last week), to a remark that Toyota salesmen in the audience must be happy with one of the jokes "Yeah, that's true!" He's been hammering GM, Chevrolet on quality and reliability stereotypes at least 10 years old... I otherwise enjoy Conan, so these jokes get on my nerves...  |

Conan is just scraping for jokes. Even Leno made his jokes about GM, but in the same show he'd claim the Camaro is the car that will save GM. I've never been a Conan fan, and the quality of the Tonight Show has been diminished. His humor is idiocy.

Pfft. OK, I'll go hide in my basement.
 It's an observation. I don't see why Transformers-GM-Chevrolet = Lemon needs to be the butt of nightly jokes as if it was still 1996 (or whatever the age of his Taurus is), that's all. One of the jokes was something to the extent of having one of the Transformers as a Tow Truck to tow away all of the GM lemons in the movie. It's really not topical to bankruptcy. I'd like it if the humor could be in part based on reality. Does GM still have a major quality/lemon problem now in 2009? Let the jest be based in truth, not moldy old stereotypes. Heck, I'd chuckle at a GM bankruptcy joke. It's when they rag on the quality that I roll my eyes. If my observation bothers you, perhaps you need to go "hide in your basement" and stop whining here. Or grow a thicker skin.  Quote:
