Getting a car
Okay, I'm getting a car and my only requirements are that it be a 4-door and rear drive (not picky at all am I?). Caprices look like a good way to go, cheap, good looking, good power, roomy, then there's the catera, and the Lincoln LS V8. And try to keep suggestions to cars under 9k.

Re: Getting a car
In this case........
Autotrader.com can be your very best friend. Type in your zipcode, radius of the area you want to search (i.e. tally results within a 50mi area), select your make and/or model and set your price limits and you're good to go! ![]()

Re: Getting a car
I'd use Autotrader as well. Best used car site out there.

Re: Getting a car
When I was looking for used cars I found that autotrader.com and cars.com had the best selection to look through.
The Catera and Lincoln LS have a few issues that could be expensive to fix in the long run. I would probably stick with the Caprice, Crown Vic or Grand Marquis.

Re: Getting a car
The Caprice's more upscale cousins, the Buick Roadmaster and Cadillac Fleetwood/Brougham come to mind as well........every other big rear driver has been covered already

Re: Getting a car
Stay away from the Catera what ever you do! That thing is a wreck on wheels. It was a reliability disaster from the start.

E39 5 Series
Lincoln LS And how's your taste? Exactly what cars do you like? I'd recommend something like the Crown Vic, but it doesn't sound like you would like that. And cheap used RWD pickings are scarce, especially the V8 variety. Couldnt you settle for a 2 door, or a 6 cylinder car? |

Re: Getting a car
You should be able to get a really nice roadmaster.
I have been looking a Buick Regals lately. They are not rwd, but they do have a supercharger.

Re: Getting a car
Look for a 2wd Chevy Truck if you can't find a sedan. Autotrader is a good place to look, Hemmings & Old Cars Weekly for the older stuff.

Re: Getting a car
Catera would be the worst idea ever. Everyone I have come across has been a nightmare, and parts/service will cost a fortune as there arent many besides a caddy dealer that will touch them.
+1 on the Caprice/Roadmaster. Those things are very cool and ride awesome, plus they are fairly easy to work on. But if 9k is your limit, I'd shoot for something newer and more reliable. (as opposed to a 10-15 yr old Caprice) As already stated, there arent many rwd cars as it is. A Regal GS would be a sweet ride for sure.
