Cool Chevy Captiva 2.2L diesel 45 mpg

Chevy Captiva 2.2L diesel 45 mpg

When will GM bring this here to U.S.? GM doesn't build anything but gas hogging SUV terrorist-mobiles.

I heard the chevy captiva is based on old Saturn VUE SUV chassis.

They are supposed to bring Chevy Cruze 2.2 diesel 50 mpg in Aug. as 2013 model. But I want CAPTIVA.

    EPA IS IN THE WAY.

    Hey I think I just created a new catch-phrase.

I like mine - not the 2.2 but still has plenty in a fairly large vehicle - towed my boat down to the lake for a spot of fishing

I get about 600KM out of a tank which is decent for the size of the vehicle

BTW EPA my left foot - engine running i can go around the
back and hook up the boat no drama cant even smell a thing compared to my old ute which nearly killed me

Yes, EPA is in the way. They don't want a diesel car in the US unless it spews out unicorn dust.

AT 91fairladyZ, like what Chevy Suburban Oil-for-Terrorist-mobile? Nothing in SUV format gets more than 32 MPG, which is Equinox. 2.2L Captiva which is Saturn Vue gets 45 mpg. EPA is not in the way. **** Cheney lobbied to keep ALL these vehicles out of U.S., because to protect record profits and road tax Big 7 Sister Oil companies, instead of Americans. Even cars MADE HERE IN U.S. CANNOT BE SOLD HERE. Ford has Eco that gets 70 MPG, and is for Export Out-of-U.S. ONLY. VW PASSAT has 1.6L DIESEL MADE HERE IN U.S. that is for EXPORT-ONLY, it gets 78 MPG.

You can say all you wish about who or what is keeping fuel frugal small displacement Euro type diesels out of the US ...

Has anyone noticed that VW/Audi has found a way ... almost 3 years ago! And their market share is about 73% ... the best I can tell, of an expanding light passenger clean diesel segment.

So has Mercedes and BM ... but not quite as frugal larger displacement systems.

Just saying "Can't/won't never accomplished anything!"
It is important what WE use as our "moral compass" and ...
the "measuring stick" chosen for judging progress/success as well.

    44 mpg by 2010 ... 2013?
