Can a key fob be reprogrammed for another car?

I had a 2010 Equinox that was totaled, and I still have the second key fob. Could I give it to someone who has an Equinox so they can reprogram it to work with their car?

If the part # is the same. The car needs the same options, such as remote start. The # is on the back. Or you could sell it some are valuable.

Let's see you acknowledge a man whose words make your blood boil, who's standing center stage and advocating at the top of his lungs that which you would spend a lifetime opposing at the top of yours. You want to claim this land as the land of the free? Then the symbol of your country cannot just be a flag. The symbol also has to be one of its citizens exercising his right to burn that flag in protest. Now show me that, defend that, celebrate that in your classrooms."

I know the key itself wouldn't work, but you might still be able to reprogram the keyless features.

And then of course you could take it apart and put in the correct key.
