Auto sales November 2008: Beat this number game
Well, IMO, this is quite possibly one of the scariest month in American history as far as the numbers go.
Normally, a song would be good about now but that's hard to do together over the internet. And besides, we should make lemonade with the lemons just handed out. So, make up your own label and post your own favorites - the good, the bad, and the ugly - the whatever and try to beat the other guy. Here are just a few to start. Toyota Prius -48.3% . Biggest Surprise Number of the Month. Honda hybrids - total - 69.7%. Biggest shock number of the month. American Hyundai Motor Co - 40.0% Biggest surprise ( bad ) performance by an OEM. As a group, never saw this coming.

People are buckling down for a rough financial ride and with gas prices low a Corolla or Yaris looks a lot better of the pocket book (at least in the short-term). SUVs are not doing great either - I was surprised to see this (regarding the size of the drop); GMC Envoy, which is the only SUV I've ever really liked style-wise is down -72% - yikes Btw: I'm not a lefty, but I can still see the value of a hybrid. |

Who would bother with a hybrid when gas is $1.90 a gallon now? No surprise on Prius. Just buy a Corolla.

Re: Auto sales November 2008: Beat this number game
It would be interesting to see how many people are opting for used cars these days with all the repos etc.
I almost went used but I was picky about color and options. Most people don't care as much and the deals are great. |
