American Police cars in other countries

Obviously it's kind of rare, as states tend to favor auto companies in their region for government vehicles. Never-the-less some cop cars from the big-3 do make it around the world. Let's see some of them!

From the What's going on where you are thread.
Dodge Charger, Czech Republic

Hummer H3, Czech Republic

A couple others

Ford Crown Victoria, Kuwait

Ford Crown Victoria, Russia

Re: American Police cars in other countries

There's a boat load of Trailblazer police vehicles in Iraq along with some Ford products.

There's a lot of American cars in general in the middle east.

I'm still very surprised to see a Charger in the Czech Republic....I know the Hummer brand is a niche brand all over the world like the Land Rover Defender products (thus doubt it's an extremely popular police vehicle), but I can't get over a big American car like the Charger being over there.

Because it's expected that you pull over and stop when a cop car with lights flashing is behind you.

The Russian Crowns are something special. I remember watching that John Bunnel guy on that police chase show and he was talking about them (and crazy russians)

Anyway Chargers Impalas and Crowns, these are Canadian cars

Not always. An officer could be reponding to a call that has nothing to do with you.

You still pull over and if he passes you then you know not to stop.

I really don't mean to press the issue, but i've been in a situation where it's not possible to pull over, not uncommon in New York. It would be nice to be able to look in my mirror and be certain beyond doubt that they want me to stop. I didn't think it was much to ask for or even why I'd never seen it before.

Re: American Police cars in other countries

I guess American cars are popular in the Middle East...see an old Chevy van (I think), the CVPI, another Panther, and a Trailblazer

And GM is selling Hummer, not becouse of anything but bad press. Yikes. If I was GM I would take Hummer out of North America and still keep the brand.

I agree to apoint. GM should revamp Hummer's image to get away from the mega-in your face bright chrome and loud colors, and dedicate themselves to being true Land Rover type vehicles. Luxury, off road ruggedness that is on another plain.
