2008 vs 2007 Vette

I was looking on the Transport Canada site this morning and it says that most GM vehicles can be imported, all Vette's up to 2007's can be imported, but no 2008 Corvette models are allowed because they cannot be modified to meet Canadian bumper standards. What changes were made to the 2008 bumper that would cause this? You can still buy Canadian Vette's just not import a new one from the US now....

FTR, 2004-2006 GTO's and the new G8 will not be allowed to be imported either for some reason.

I guess anything to keep Canadians paying another 15 grand for a new Vette over what the Americans have to pay.....

Re: 2008 vs 2007 Vette

Is it really bumper standards or is it the "immobilizer" thing?
