I had been wondering that... looks familiar from when I was in Thialand a few years back... to bad I lost the GM contacts I had made (I was staying at the same hotel that GM execs were having a huge confrence at on that same weekend)... *sigh*

Re: 2006 Chevy LUV....

It's just a rebadge of an Isuzu D-Max. Here in DR, they sell both the Isuzu D-Max and the Chevy Colorado.

GM's got a real mess with the GMT-355 pickups, though. The Colorado/Canyon is a reskinned version of the Isuzu D-Max, while the Isuzu i-Series trucks is a rebadged verion of the Colorado. Then in South America, Chevy's pickup is a rebadged version of the D-Max. WTF?

This made me think why dont they just bring that isuzu here instead of rebadging the colorado/canyon that we already have.

Re: 2006 Chevy LUV....

That's my point. And sell the Colorado in South America as a Chevy. It may have something to do with US safety regulations (Colorado/Canyon/i-Series version of GMT-355 US legal and D-Max/Chevy non-US legal and cheaper to make). It still seems stupid though.
