Re: Spied: 2010 GMC Terrain
So the next Equinox and the Traverse both will be 3 row crossovers.
The wheel bases will be less than 6" apart. Both will offer the 3.6 HF V-6. Both will start under $25,000. Both will be introduced within a year of each other. |

The Equinox is also suppose to have an engine under the 3.6L, but I have not heard any specifics on it. |

Re: Spied: 2010 GMC Terrain
Not a big deal to add a third row...doesnt mean it will be bigger.
The one division of GM that everyone forgets is Suzuki. CAMI not only builds the Nox/Tor, but, also on that platform, the XL7 which in fact has 3 rows of seating. There you have it, same size, three rows.

Re: Spied: 2010 GMC Terrain
Is there any chance that this truck will be even moderately equipped for off roading or towing?
I've heard that the new Theta II chassis was very flexible with applications. |

Re: Spied: 2010 GMC Terrain
I wouldn't get your hopes up. It will probably be no more capable when it comes to off roading or towing than the current models.

Re: Spied: 2010 GMC Terrain
Its strange, the Cadillac BRX showed more under its cloak, we could tell from the huge grill anyway. So once again, as Japan and Ford make 1-2 versions of a crossover, GM will have 3. I almost think Torrent was a better name than Terrain but i guess each name works better for the respected brand. I imagine they will sell well, just hopefully not as much as the edge lol.

Re: Spied: 2010 GMC Terrain
I know it's not directly related to the linked story but read down a bit, about the Ford worker who hit the Lotto. Left lane has the link up about how he won't be buying a Ford but when you follow the story the truth is he is directly quoted as saying he is, and more than one.
Why doesn't Left Lane make a greater effort to correct the story or is the real message "don't trust everything you read on a web site". |

Re: Spied: 2010 GMC Terrain
Here's a length comparison of "small" SUVs:
Chevrolet Captiva (3rd row seating) - 182" Toyota RAV4 (3rd row seating) - 181" (includes spare tire cover) Saturn VUE (no 3rd row) - 180" Chevrolet Equinox (no 3rd row) - 189" Honda CR-V (no 3rd row) - 178" Ford Edge (no 3rd row) - 186" Ford Escape (no 3rd row) - 175" As you can see, the vehicle that would best compete over here is the current Captiva. Hopefully, GM will be smart and work with the Captiva in developing the next-gen Equinox/Terrain/VUE.
