Re: Spied: 2010 Chevrolet Silverado Heavy Duty

I love the little strip of black tape covering the bowtie emblem. Sneaky bunch those GM guys. Nobody will ever think that is a Chevy.

^ Welcome to GMi, pwinskey!

I agree with most of you- that bumper is much nicer than the current one. The front end looks alot higher because of it! Good move so far GM!

Yes, 2010 is the year that new emissions standards take effect. However, you don't necessarily need to use urea injection.

Would that even be possible with today's electronic engine management?
Is it possible? Yes. It actually already exists and is operated by your right foot.

Nice new Bumper (I wonder if it will fit an 07 Half ton).

I also like the larger new wheels.

I wonder if this model will have the new frame.

Didn't when the 900 HDs came out they just used a stronger version of the 800 HD frames, right?

The NBS HDs have always been on the GMT-900 frames. When the 2007 NBS 1500s came out, the HDs were still GMT-800, as were their bodies. When they new body style went HD, so did the frames.

Re: Spied: 2010 Chevrolet Silverado Heavy Duty

Is it just me or does the front look a little more curved down at the hood? Maybe trying to improve aerodynamics?

EDIT: Just compared the hood to the Chevrolet website and it is deffinitely rounded off a bit more than the current model.

Especially with that big-assed bowtie on the tailgate. It would've never been noticed if they hadn't taped-up the emblems.

I like the new bumper MUCH better. I haven't been fond of the barbell bumper.

Re: Spied: 2010 Chevrolet Silverado Heavy Duty

Front bumper makes a world of difference. Truck looks great.

Oh and regarding that frame, that is NOT an all new-frame. When the HD trucks made their debut, it was noted that they were still on "GMT800" frames that had been tweaked/updated.

Re: Spied: 2010 Chevrolet Silverado Heavy Duty

I wonder if they're finally going after the commercial market? I assume the RV market will be in a massive retreat, but commercial users will still need their trucks and it looks to me like Ford owns that segment pretty handily. Anyone notice when watching shows on TV that almost all the large companys are running Super Dutys? I've been noticing on Ice Road truckers that 90% of what you see are Super Dutys. Maybe GM has noticed also.
