That pic has been on Chevrolet's website for quite awhile now: http://www.chevrolet.com/pop/silverado/2008/hybrid2009_en.jsp?

I'm still waiting for more official info -- this may be the one vehicle that convinces me to buy an automatic for the first time in 10+ years (aside from a couple winter beaters).

Re: Official GM Photo: 2009 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid Crew Cab

I would have thought they'd have made the grille somewhat different like on the 900 SUV hybrids to distinguish them. Other than the decal on the lower portion of the doors, there's no external difference to announce to the world how smart, environmentaly friendly you are!

Re: Official GM Photo: 2009 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid Crew Cab

Will it only come in boring grey/beige? The only ones I've ever seen were always that color, and I couldn't fathom buying that.

Otherwise, it's a great truck, whats not to like about the best truck being more efficient?

What they probably havent announced is that will come in a special shade of GREEN and have daytime HID headlights that say HYBRID when looked at!

Funny, a GMC Yukon Hybrid-oddly in the same color as the Silverado featured above (and to which logansowner points)-passed me this morning on the way to work. I love the overall look of the GMC truck line. But I really think the Hybrid sticker affixed to the side comes across as un-professional grade and frankly garish; it really detracts from an otherwise very attractive FS truck. I agree that there are probably better ways to distinguish vehicles equipped with the hybrid powertrain.

In general, I think there are better ways to advertise GM's hybrids. You know, like showing Paris Hilton in hers!

Re: Official GM Photo: 2009 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid Crew Cab

do you think a z-71 two-mode is in the works? thatd be pretty sweet.

does anyone know if this will have an aftermarket? what happens if you start lifting, bigger tires, exhausts, intakes, etc.? im sure it'll be possible, but how difficult.

I don't know that sticker might keep you from getting keyed or torched by an eco-Nazi

I would assume that any mods would immediately void your warranty, not to mention the Hybrid systems is calibrated to run as is and would probably get messed up with any changes.

By the way, I would have the sticker removed, it's F-U-G-L-Y!

Re: Official GM Photo: 2009 Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid Crew Cab

So this isn't the BAS system in the old Silverado?

This is an actual hybrid that gets better mileage, right?

I remember reading somewhere that yes it would be, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. It said Z71 too not just 4x4 like all the rest I have read (which probably makes it a mistake).

Its the new two-mode. The old Silverado Hybrid wasn't even the BAS I think.
