Thanks....Is 2009 slated for a redesign or something? Other then that I don't see why they would wait.

AHHHHH! Son of a motherless goat!! Thats it, I give up.....

Oh, wait a second.....Does that apply to the Canyon as well??? The sales brochure and the website say Feb 08 for GMC, but no mention of it for the Colorado on the Chevy site...

Alright, its official, no V8 for canyon either until 09, I just found it on the GMC hotsheet

Re: No V8 For Colorado/Canyon Until 2009

I'm guessing the V8 is getting saved for a heavy refresh or a complete redesign. Just an idea...

Re: No V8 For Colorado/Canyon Until 2009

I would get a Colorado Crew in a heartbeat if they replaced the fugly front clip and gave the interior an overhaul. It doesn't have to be a huge upgrade, but something between the current Colorado interior and the Silverado's interior would be nice. I would love to have a pickup for weekend jobs, but I don't want have to drive something as large as the Silverado every day. For me, it's not a matter of cost - it's the packaging. There are a lot of tiny parking spaces where I live.

Re: No V8 For Colorado/Canyon Until 2009

They need to MCE the 355 twins immediately. I don't think they can hold-out until 2011 (or whenever they will be replaced) as-is. The 5.3L delay is a dissapoinment, but I don't think they will be selling many anyways.

Re: No V8 For Colorado/Canyon Until 2009

That's sucky, but since I own a 2007 I won't be kicking myself in the arse for not waiting for the 2008. I would like to see standard 16 and 17 inch wheels for non zq8 versions in the next year or so.

Re: No V8 For Colorado/Canyon Until 2009

Anyone know the weight of the 5.3 V8 vs. the 3.7 I5? Reg. cab 2wd I5 lists a weight at 3400 lbs. A 320-325 HP 3400 to 3500 lb Colorado could be a little pocket rocket truck.

Long in the tooth is an understatement for these trucks. Interior from the mid-90s and engines that were outpaced even after being upgraded. Scary thing is I doubt GM will be sinking money into mid-size trucks anymore.

Yet another segment surrendered

Re: No V8 For Colorado/Canyon Until 2009

If they cant get em for the 08 MY which would have been late already... then dont bring em at all its pretty much useless.

The V8 should have been released from the start.
