Re: Jalopnik: GM Killing Hummer H2 After 2011
I'd take it one step further and kill off the hummer brand. The H3 would be replaced by a new Blazer/Jimmy combo available in 2 and 4 door open top to go up against the Wrangler series and a traditional 4-door closed top variety. There would also be a new off road package that goes above and beyond Z71 similar the Rubicon introduced across the GM truck line.

I agree with that, Hummer still sells in decent numbers, just need to change their image as a maker of huge fuel inefficient vehicles

That is what I meant, that is why I am happy that the H2 is getting the 4.5 liter V8 diesel

Sorry. It was your usage of the word huge that scares me. That is why I would love from them to produce a Jeep like vehicle. Small and light but kick *** off-road.

Re: Jalopnik: GM Killing Hummer H2 After 2011
I personally love large vehicles, but we all remember those people who set some Hummer's on fire and that eco-groups hate the vehicle with a passion. I am hoping the HX stays true to the concept, and maybe get a 4 door version and a diesel engine

I have no problem large vehicles either. But I think Hummer needs to have a smaller vehicle to break some of the bad press.

Re: Jalopnik: GM Killing Hummer H2 After 2011
The HX will be Wrangler sized, and I am sure the H2 will evolve in some way to be lighter and more efficient without losing what makes it what it is

Re: Jalopnik: GM Killing Hummer H2 After 2011
Too much is in the HUMMER name to kill the lineup. The H2 will fade. However the HUMMER H# has a long and prosperous way to go. With extra care in engineering...
Lots of $$$ to me made in the 4x4 world with some good transmissions and engines. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Hi!
It's not an early April fool's day joke, nor? Will HUMMER only build lady cars then? I got one more question to you as you are a journalist: Do you know any good HUMMER books? I just got one huge (17 x25 inches) HUMMER H2 book here in Austria. You can find it at www.h2book.com Cheers! Otto |
