I was at a GMC dinner last night and one of the treats during the slide show was a few undisguised pictures of the new Acadia.
They asked us not to talk about it, however I can say, as you would imagine, it has a passing resembence to the Graphyte concept. But do not fret, it looks very very good. The rear is very Outlookish, but does have some features that are above and beyond what the Outlook will offer, and does give some clues to the production Enclave. Either way, I'm sorry I can't give out more information, but trust me, you will be pleased! Last edited by Mervz : 05-18-2006 at 06:52 PM. |

Re: I saw the Acadia, un-masked, last night...
When will this be introduced? I am guessing the LAIAS in November/December? Is there a chance we will see it any sooner?

What's the roofline like, from the c-pillar to the d-pillar? Nomad concept-ish? Or a roofline like the Dodge Magnum which is kinda hot rod-ish.
Or is it more like the Envalve and Outlook?

I'm very excited to see how these do in the market. GM is really going to dominate the SUV/pick-up/CUV market.
Now the big question, what will they do with the TB/Envoy.

If GMC is going to bill itself as "profesional grade" then they need to offer this CUV with a V8. I'm sure the new non DI 3.6L V6 is excellent - but for this size and price point - a V8 would be perfect. |

Re: I saw the Acadia, un-masked, last night...
Sounds like a winner. Thanks for the info Mervz.
I have one question though. When you say it has a "passing resemblance" to the Graphyte concept, what on the production vehicle most closely resembles the concept? The headlights? The roofline? Is it somewhat slab-sided like the Graphyte concept? Or is that too much information to give away? ![]()
