GM has announced that Hummers will be assembled in Russia for sale there.

What more perfect vehicle could there be for Russia, a land of decrepit infrastructure, heavy snows and rugged terrain whose citizens have a healthy respect for blunt assertions of power?

Kaliningrad - General Motors and Avtotor today celebrated the official start of assembly of the HUMMER H2 at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad, Russia. The ceremony was attended by Jonathan Browning, GM Europe Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Aftersales; Vladimir Sherbakov, Chairman Avtotor; Vladimir Egorov, Kaliningrad Governor; and John Costin, GM Executive Director International Product Center.

You may hate what you see when you step on the scale. ‘Jeeze, 230 pounds!’ But you can’t pass a law making yourself weigh 185.
