Hopefully it features an Avalanche-esque midgate. Otherwise it's just another what's-the-big-deal 4-door pickup. I drove a 4-door Tacoma last week for a couple of days. The bed is too small for my surfboards, and too open so that I ended up hauling everything I carried (some cardboard boxes filled with wardrobe for a film shoot) inside the cab.

Yeah, the midgate would really set it apart from other truck its size. Hopefully it isn't to overpriced.

Will it finally get a V-8 option? I hope it doesn't get a midgate because it is already too heavy and those flying butresses look awkward. It needs a box cap similar to the Ford Sportrac.

I'd like to see it start at around $30K. Or $32K if V8 is the base engine.

I'm guessing the I5 will be base engine, and 5.3 V8 will be an upgrade...

Thumbs up Re: HUMMER to unveil H3T Pickup Truck at 2008 Chicago Auto Show

Has any one seen the new issue of Truck Trend? They have a ride along mule testing information artical.
One thing I can remember is that the bed width between the wheel wells to be 48", but the prelim. spec. info. states 44" < that stinks.

it doesnt need the avalanche style bed slants on it, the H2T has a midgate and doesn't have those on it. It should have the midgate since the H2T has one already.

Re: HUMMER to unveil H3T Pickup Truck at 2008 Chicago Auto Show

I like that it may arrive with the 48" between the wheel wells, so that a sheet of material (plywood or sheetrock) could lay flat on the floor and overhang with the tailgate down about 1' or so. I could then use a support out of the tow hitch to support the rest of material.

Bleh..

I like to offroad, and I would prefer to stay GM.. but this thing is butt ugly. It looks like something designed overseas from the 80's. Give me the HX.

Wink Re: HUMMER to unveil H3T Pickup Truck at 2008 Chicago Auto Show

The rear (2nd pic on the Hummerguy site) shot has me sincerely interested. This is a true alternative (not Alpha badge) to a Silverado Z71, Ford F-150 FX4, Nissan Titan Nismo, Toyota TRD, etc...

Can't wait to see it in person at Chicago!
