As for Hummer in Australia, I believe given a diesel option and better marketing and less chrome, it can gain acceptance there. That is, if Hummer even exists by then...
Not at the numbers they are being sold at in the US at the moment, they are well below a break even point.

How about fake bonnet [read: hood] machine guns? I kid you not.

Whilst the H3s 4X4 capability is not in doubt (according to reviews i have read) it just isn't practical. To be honest, i thought the interiorfinish was pretty good, but visibility ( something pretty important when navigating off road) is pretty second class. I like the idea of being a Jeep competitor though.

Re: Hummer Australia Sales Defy US Crash

You know how many Hummers H3's i have seen, 2.. One last year before it was officially sold, And one 3 weeks ago. that's it..

By the way, I have seen 5 Pontiac G8 LHD cars, One today.. What's the likely hood of that.
I'd like too know what 800+ they think they actually sold.

BTW to the American blokes, The G8 does look much better on the road then it does in pics, I was about to record it but the bugger was zipping off to fast.
Stands out the front you don't miss it.

That's me boy !!!!

Good to see you are pushing gas-guzzling "tank-sized" Landcruisers

Thanks Patto. Well it is not me that is pushing them, it is the people
buying them. Nice shot of the Suzuki Mighty Boy in your Avatar, by the way.

It doesn't, the people shopping the H3 would not be looking at a Cruiser or Patrol as the H3 is not full sized, does not come in diesel and has a tiny petrol tank. Cruiser, Prado Patrol have 135L, 180L and 125L tanks respectively.

I just bought a Patrol and the H3 didn't even make the starting grid on my list.

Also keep in mind, Hummer is still an image thing down there, why be seen in a big suv everyone else has when you can have a Hummer and be different.
Image is a big thing with Huimmers, as with all 4wd's but most I've seen do have the big rims and low profile tyres.

H3's are good offroad, there small size hinders their outback touring capability and where they would be good, in the High Country, the small tank would be a problem.
