H3 Helps Red Cross

H3 Helps Red Cross

2006 HUMMER H3 as donated by HUMMER and the GM Foundation to the American Red Cross. The first four H3's were donated in December to Red Cross Chapters in areas devastated by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, including New Orleans, Baton Rouge, La.; Biloxi, Miss., and Houston. These deliveries kick off the newly established partnership between the American Red Cross, HUMMER, and the GM Foundation and are part of a committed 72 vehicle fleet that will include a combination of H1, H2 and H3 models. In addition, the GM Foundation will contribute $100,000 annually for six years to strengthen communities' ability to prepare and respond to emergencies.

hmm, you don't hear much about Toyota doing this sort of stuff. But then again I guess they are busy saving the world one hybrid at a time.

In that case, they should be giving away H2s rather than H3s, which have seen some sales success. Refer to H3 Thrives In Slow SUV Market

Re: H3 Helps Red Cross

Rather see an H3 with an American Red Cross sticker or a 4Runner (assuming Toyota would ever donate a vehicle for a good cause)? .....hmmm I too would rather see the H3 evertime.

Too many people in this post just don't appreciate that GM is NOT ONLY donating money, they are donating capable vehicles to make it to areas that need the help. Can't for once you people appreciate the idea of helping?

Re: H3 Helps Red Cross

This does many things for GM. Shows good faith in not only helping the people that have suffered, but helping the helpers to get to thoes who need assistance. And the H3 being made in the very state also reinforces support for the company and the plant. It shows Louisianians helping eachother out. They build the trucks that help thier fellow neighbors. Good move on there part, good move.

The majority of this board tries to use any reason to hate on Toyota. Even making groundless assumptions.

I don't know about Toyota but I know Nissan donated vehicles (along with money) to help Katrina victims.

Re: H3 Helps Red Cross

quick! stop helping the hurricane victims and pose that truck for the camera!

GM, just donate the vehicle and leave it at that. I can do without the glossy 8x10s please...

Sorry , but I just dont see it happening, either H2's OR H3's. H3's might be selling a little bit more than the H2's since they are new, but they are definately not flying off of the lot. As a matter of fact, nothing GM is flying off of the lot these days.
