GMC Concept Wins LA Auto Show Award
http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2...05/206745.html
General Motors Advanced Design's GMC PAD wins the California Design Challenge at the Los Angeles Auto Show Thursday, January 5, 2006. The GMC PAD is a futuristic-looking, diesel-electric powered urban loft with mobility, a creature comfort-filled concept for living in the ever-changing cultural landscape of Southern California or a modern alternative for those financially locked out of Southern California 's escalating housing market. It's a home ownership concept that enables cultural and geographic freedom for the modern city dweller and provides a new answer to the problem of urban sprawl. ![]()

I could just see that barrelling down the highway driven by an inept soccer mom who's screaming at her kids (20 feet behind her) while sucking down a big gulp.

Re: GMC Concept Wins LA Auto Show Award
Yes, I see a direct line from the GMC Futurliner, thru the GMC motorhome (still used by NASA, BTW I saw it during coverage of a shuttle launch recently) to this concept. But let me get this straight, GMC wants to get into the lucrative, "nearly homeless, but I can afford to drive a motorhome around L.A. and live in it" market? Would this be Generation Y not? I suppose thse folks would love to have a nice new mobile loft, but most of them can barely afford to keep the 30 year old Winabagoes they already live in running.

That "fart burner" ads 5-10HP to your car ;some of those small Hondas can whip a Vett off the line. (from anti-rice.com)So 115hp+10hp=430hp, at least in ricerland |
