They're trying to take brands from companies that arent doing well and then revamp them and turn themselfs into the next automobile empire. The products name is already on the market, they already know what their neish market is for those vehicles. So they can take what they know and spend more money on making the product better. Instead of spending the money to find that out. They're being smart about this.

What a concept! Spend money on making a better product. Not just advertizing...

Maybe, they want Land Rover to be the updscale brand and Hummer to be a true Jeep fighter (which means they have to get the cost in line).

I find it ironic that India had to gain independence from Britain, only later to buy one of the truly iconic British names. Talk about come-uppance!

And, in today's paper I saw the H3's were going for $8700 off. Hmm...maybe I should consider purchasing the Hummer. I don't drive that much and for that type of deal...woohoo!
