Re: GM SUV plant in Arlington will shut down for 3 weeks

They aren't stupid at all, they figured out how to act a certian way to get millions of people to throw their money at them.

My ex GF played that game too. To watch her converse with people, you'd swear she couldn't find the jewelry section at Peoples....but when we were alone, I found out she was very smart...she's currently half way to her BOA. I strongly suspect both Brittney (coincidentally, my Ex's name) and Paris are likely not remotely as stupid as they portray themselves as. Although I also suspect Brit has become crazy with the harassment, but she never seemed to be crazy before.

A BOF car capable of truck-style towing would be a terrific alternative for people who use Tahoes and whatnot for that purpose.

GM should have plotted a return for such cars years ago.

If you have to idle plants, you have too much capacity to begin with. They need to look at shuddering one of those plants.

Well they're idling plants because the parts are not being produced in normal quantities, but they were going to idle them anyway. This way they "forced to" and come out looking better. They do have far too much capacity, do you know why? UAW/CAW "make work projects"...that's why.

Sales may well be dow but there are still some people who don't care about gas prices and love the power, convenience, utility, and comfort of GM's superior large SUVs. I love my 2007 GMC Yukon XL Denali - the power is amazing. Best vehicle I have ever owned.

I am seriously considering getting a second one - maybe a slightly used Denali or an Escalade - I like our SUV (which my wife primarily drives) so much.

Don't be so dramatic, either - the Denali and the Escalade get better than 12mpg - I average about 15mpg, city and highway. If mpg if important to you, GM will be happy to sell you a version of their large SUVs (hybrid) that gets 20mpg in the city!

Besides, I have spent six years of my life in Europe. You want to see high gas prices? Go overseas for a while - you will be shocked! Our $4 gas is still a bargain! (Of course, I still wish it was much lower here, haha...)

SUV sales are dipping, but they're still popular.
The Tahoe is awesome!!!

For one thing, the Tahoe gets much better than 12mpg, so you are living in fantasyland there.

Also, I can probably fit your HHR in the back of my Yukon XL Denali with space to spare. Okay, maybe I am exaggerating there, but not nearly as much as you are with your inaccurate mpg statement.
