Dude, STFU, you are arrogant and rude in every post, how damn many times do you need to be told that you are annoying and negative.

Millions of people "is crazy to buy 12mpg suv". Go play on a Toyota board or something....

I just want to point out that gm has sold 70,000 large suv's in the 1st quarter, the market is down no doubt but there are still plenty of people who will buy one 4 dollar gas or not. Everyone's needs and wants are different. What seems ridiculous to you may be perfectly rational to someone else.

Remember I need one vehicle to do all this. Last month we traded in our Silverado Crew Cab for a Tahoe. It is by far the best overall vehicle I have ever had. It can do everything and look good doing it too. $4/gal. gas is a bargin compared to $8/gal. bottled water!
I agree to this point, but you can't really compare it, we need gas to get to work, but nobody needs to buy bottled water.

Lots of cancer drugs are hundreds of thousands per gallon, but you can't go saying they cost to much because a gallon of water is..."only $8". lol

I mean, of course, not all of us need to drive trucks. But we all do lots we don't need to...I don't need my motorcycles and big TV either, but I can, so I do. It shouldn't be up to someone to tell others what they can drive...

Why in the world would anybody buy a gas guzzling zx-10r or vulcan 900 when you could by a 100mpg moped for <$1000!? What are people thinking?

True to an extent, but when the dealership down the road with that big shiny new SUV has $4,000 or more dollars offered on the hood, a buyer can rationalize that will help offset the cost of a lot of gasoline.

In an ideal world for GM, they would not need to "push" people into vehicles with lures like that. The big cars would sell on their own merits, and would sell near sticker. Just as they should no claim with false logic that people "do not want" small pickups like the 2008 Colorado/Canyon Crew Cab -- a vehicle that currently has zero GM incentives on it....conversely they cannot claim that people "do want" vehicles that only sell well with big fat, tempting incentives on them, like the f/s trucks and SUVs of GM's.

As long as big incentives are being offered to move the big vehicles, the automakers selling them are effectively subsidizing the cost of gasoline.

I don't think you'll find many Americans willing to buy the big gas suckers for close to sticker --- whereas they apparently will when it comes to a Toyota family sedan, for instance.

because maybe you just want one? fact is, if you've got the money for the gas, the Tahoe is a damn nice vehicle and a lot of people like them. you've clearly got something against SUVs, and if you don't want one that's fine. for people that do want them and have the means, an HHR is not the same thing, and it's really not even a good substitute. SUV sales are dipping, but they're still popular.

OK EVERYONE STOP SAYING IT GETS 12MPG. Both my Mother and Stepmother own one (both actually built in Arlington) and they both swear they get 19mpg + combined driving after 20k miles. The Tahoe is an amazing vehicle and everyone who is saying 12mpg may be really leaving an impression on readers who do not care to do some actual research.

If you want a 12mpg vehicle go get you a New F450 Super Duty Gas burner. That is the kind of new vehicle that gets crappy mileage.
