DETROIT, June 23 (Reuters) - General Motors Corp. (NYSE:GM - News) will invest $160 million to upgrade its Arlington, Texas, truck assembly plant to prepare it for future models, the Detroit automaker said on Wednesday.
GM will renovate and retool the plant's body shop and general assembly area beginning later this year, the world's largest automaker said.

GM built more than 238,000 full-size sport utility vehicles at the plant last year. Currently, GM builds the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL and the Cadillac Escalade at the plant.

Toyota Motor Corp. (Tokyo:7203.T - News) will also soon be building pickup trucks in Texas. Toyota is investing $800 million in a new truck plant in San Antonio, which is scheduled to start production in 2006

GM needs to invade Japan and build cars there. They could start with Chevy's or something, just to gain insight into the japanese market.
Japanese car companies are now run by Americans in America, GM should hire Japanese to help them understand the asian market better
