GM announces 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche LTZ

General Motors will introduce the all-new 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche LTZ, the latest rollout of its next-generation full-size truck family and the industry's most flexible utility vehicle, at the Chicago Auto Show. GM also will make two major announcements: One will build on the "Live Green Go Yellow" campaign GM launched Jan. 25 in Washington, D.C.; the second involves a technology enhancement at OnStar. OnStar will celebrate its 10th anniversary at the show."GM continues to demonstrate bold and innovative leadership in products and technology," said Brent Dewar, GM vice president, marketing and advertising. "On these fronts and more, GM is truly on a roll."The Chevy Avalanche was the first to combine the passenger-comfort attributes of an SUV with the cargo capability of a truck. The 2007 model is based on GM's brand-new, full-size SUV platform, which features more power with improved, segment-leading fuel economy and flex-fuel capability on some models; a sharper, more precise driving feel; increased interior refinement and improved quietness; and world-class safety. It will go on sale in the second quarter of 2006.

"Avalanche created the segment and it continues to dominate it. In 2007, the original gets even better," said Dewar.

GM's Chicago Auto Show exhibit also will feature many of the products introduced last month at the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show and North American International Auto Show in Detroit

I wonder if the interior is the same, because they said they would differentiate all of them.

****************, I really wanted Avalanche be different than the trucks and SUV's. Hopefully this will be heard and they will do a refresh on the front. When they first came out they were totally different than other 800's and thats what I loved about them..this not so much. Still looks good though

Yeah, what is it?

Well I guess it's just a Silverado with a bed.. Hopefully the interior will be different though.

I think "Live Green Go Yellow" should be "Live Green, Go Yellow." This most likely means that you should live withe GREEN (good fuel economy), but go YELLOW (meaning good permormance.) Could this be right?

I like it. No, not much different up front than the Tahoe, but it's nice.

I thought it had to do with E85 fuel. Since corn is yellow. I don't know.

It's an Ethanol image campaign.

Re: GM announces 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche LTZ

disappointing that its not different than the 900's. Looks alright. oh yeah, they should rip off all that black slant cladding on top of the bed behind the cab, make it body color or eliminate it or something, it still looks out of place and most importantly CHEAP IMO.

Maybe the cladding will be left for the Z71 Avalanche. Other than that, this thing looks clean! Can't get enough of that front end

Re: GM announces 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche LTZ

I'm worried about the silverado being the same thing...I don't know...but for a truck that front end just isn't going to cut it.

looks fantastic on Tahoe/Suburban...

but the f/e and interior isn't going to cut it for a truck.
