It looks like the designers wanted to create as much drag as possible with the front end and fenders. I'd like to see wind tunnel tests comparing it to the Nox.

It seems to be in a class all by itself, in the looks department, so it will be attractive to someone. Remember, there's no such thing as an ugly girl, because someone will find her attractive
Ah, how about comparing it to the Corvette?

Thus, choosing between the Chevy and GMC boils down to which you consider to be better looking. Sharing only the windshield and a few other ancillary bits (such as door handles) with the Equinox, the Terrain is crisp and boxy where the Equinox is curvy, yet to most eyes that have seen it in person, the Terrain works just as well. Surprisingly, the blunt shape has the same coefficient of drag as the previous-generation Corvette. If there is anything that might stir up controversy about the design, it’s the dominant grille, followed by the squared-off wheel openings—both of which tie the Terrain to other GMC offerings, but don’t work as well on the Terrain. Other than those, there’s little any of us find disagreeable.

I don't know how anyone would choose a Terrain over the new Equinox LTZ. I suppose styling is subjective, but I still maintain that this is an inappropriate product for GMC. Something called "Terrain" should be able to handle more than a wet road, and tow more than a jet ski.

Styling is subjective, as many people would ask how anyone could choose your Silverado over a Sierra.

I think it's also got something to do with the length of an Acadia vs. a CTS/Camaro. The exhaust system is that much longer and with the three rows of seats, awd (which isn't a difference with the CTS i guess). My guess is simply that the CTS/Camaro system is less restrictive - but I'm no engineer.

How anyone would choose this over a NOX? Easy, the NOX is too curvy on the outside and the exterior looks like it was designed by an all-female focus group.

I think this vehicle looks the best in a black or grey exterior and I dig the little things like the red stitching around the seats. I wish there was an option for xenons and I wish the brake lights were LED but other than that this looks to be a decent vehicle.

Sorry, I guess all the blockiness appeals to me. Then again I had a '00 Grand AM with all the plastic cladding too.

I am disappointed at the lack of off road capabilities but then again this is a CUV Xover (or so I think) so they are focusing more on the "C" and less on the "S." The V6 can tow 3500 or so, so unless you have some heavy jet skis...

Nice dark interior shots. Does someone want to buy the guy a flash?

Why don't they tarp over the windshield and other glass for the inside shots? Looks like some sort of Neanderthal cave in there...

I've got nothing against GMC... Just wish it actually stood for something to distinguish it. It bad brand management, and it isn't good for GMC in the long run.

Why are there "GM - Mark of Excellence" chiclets on the Terrain in the pictures? I though GM got rid of these.
GMC, different from Chevy. More chrome, for one thing.
Lots more chrome.

And enough cladding on the front end to supply some old Bonnevilles for a year.

Is that the covered wagon Corvette?

I'm going to need some proof before I buy that statement.

I love the boxy designs myself. The Terrain is the first small CUV I've ever found attractive, and other than the Flex the only CUV I find attractive.

Its possible, remember co-efficient of drag isn't total drag, that's coefficient of drag times surface area. I had also read that the Flex had surprisingly impressive co-efficient of drag.

.
I did have a few more reasons for that comment.

1.) The 3.6 DI probably won't go in the SRX/9-4 because of the 2.8 Turbo. Having both together would be pointless.

2.) I believe the 3.6 runs on regular gas- but I could be wrong.

3. The 3.6 is probably cheaper to make and without looking I'm willing to guess that it has more torque but again I could be wrong.

I think there is room for the 2.8 Turbo in GM's lineup but I just can't see it in the Equinox/Terrain. I think it would be much better in the upcoming Regal for instance.
