First Drive: 2010 GMC Terrain

2010 GMC Terrain: First Drive

Quote:
We were quite impressed with the 2010 Chevy Equinox on our first drive, but what about its platform-mate, the controversially-styled 2010 GMC Terrain? It's both more butch and expensive, but does it offer any substance over the Chevy? Not really...

There is a bit of news, as GM representatives let us know there was a Denali version coming along, so expect a garish front grille, a significantly upgraded interior with wood and aluminum trim, and unique wheels and exterior trim pieces.

I understand the Denali trim is engraned in the GMC lineup but no amount of jewelry can hide that ugly face.

No way, I love the look of this thing. The Equinox is great no doubt, but I love the bold, blocky styling of the Terrain. My local GMC dealer has one now, I'm going to take a look at it this weekend. Can't wait.

Ooh, a Terrain Denali! The ugliest vehicle from GM since the Aztek just got even worse!!

The thing is, they have been saying there will be an Acadia Denali out for some time now, and it still hasn't come to fruition. So I doubt a Terrain Denali will surface either.

GM needs to hire the photogrphy team from Jalopnik. Beautiful shots as always.

How much more could they ad to the Denali? When you get the SLT with the chrome wheels it already looks dressed up enough to be a Denali. Who wants to bet that the Denali is going to have the turbocharged 2.8 V6

You mean shot in a parking lot at noon, with trees growing out of the roof and headlight? Are you serious?

Personally, I think Denalis are some of the best looking, most gorgeous trucks out there...and I'm not much of a truck person.

Re: First Drive: 2010 GMC Terrain

I have to agree with Jalopnik. How can they make this more of a Denali besides on the interior?

20" rims, different grill. I hope not more chrome. It would be nice if they gave it an LED rear taillight configuration. Maybe gave it Xenon headlights instead of Projectors. Maybe even turning Xenon? I guess they could pack it with more technology. But when it comes to technology, it should be available on every trim level.

I am impressed with the new Terrain. I like its chiseled aggressive look that distances itself from Chevy.

Oddly enough I hope it's the 3.6 DI instead. At least Cadillac/Saab will have an "exclusive" engine option that way.

Re: First Drive: 2010 GMC Terrain

The question for me is will the Denali get the 3.6DI so there's more than wood trim?
