I assume that is unveiled to the general public, but I imagine we will see it before that (I hope).

Re: Date for the 2007 Silverado debut!
Yep, we'll see it Sept. 27.
Just kidding. That's a long way from now. I understand why they want it to debut in Texas, but I am surprised that they are waiting SOOO long to release them. We have to assume that the engineering work has mostly been completed on the GMT-900s for a while, since the SUVs are on the road (a woman in my church just got a maroon '07 Tahoe LT). It may come down to production capacity/plant changeovers and the desire to start selling them immediately while the buzz is still strong on the new style. Can't wait to see them. |

The Tundra is Fugly.. I doubt Toyota's rise in truck will be as fast as in the car sector..
I also think GM and ford are beggining to put a real fight for the Sedan Market.. |

Re: Date for the 2007 Silverado debut!
According to reports, they are pretty much going to unveil the Silverado, then say, now for sale! Trust me, we will have shots of the real thing before then, because they will have to start production to get them to dealers for the start of the '07 model year. Most reports say that the trucks were moved up for production to Sept/Oct. Weird.

Re: Date for the 2007 Silverado debut!
This has already been announced as a 2007 model - so we know they will go on sale this fall unlike the Tahoe which was also unveiled at the 2005 Texas State Fair - yet didn't go on sale until January as a 2007 model. The more important question is when the start of production of saleable units begins? Does anyone know when this will happen? To make a big splash - GM needs to have them ready for sale October 1st. Remember how GM/Chevy introduced the Tahoe on New Years Eve with an immediate sales date? GM needs to do that with the Silverado.

I live in San Antonio where the next Tundra will be built and there is more interest in the Chevy truck than the Tundra. The general reaction to the Tundra here in Texas is that is is ugly. Most people are either Ford folks or are holding out for the next Silverado. The Tahoe has really peaked the interest in the new line of trucks coming. |
