Re: Consumer Reports Top 10 vehicles, Silverado!

CR is still crap in my mind. Lots of people bought Toyotas based upon CR's recommendation which used to give Toyota a free pass on reliability. They should apologize and get rid of this stupid policy for all brands. How many buyers bought 2000 Odysseys based upon CR's recommendation to only find out the transmissions were lemons? Let the cars PROVE they are reliable before you recommend them. Every brand has its lemons.

Mark

I don't care for CR. I don't read their magazine and their opinions sure wouldn't influence what I buy.

Re: Consumer Reports Top 10 vehicles, Silverado!

This is good news for GM. Truck sales are down but just seeing a GM vehicle on this list will help overall. Hopefully GM will get a couple cars on there soon. I am very impressed with the new cars coming from GM.

Your reasoning is the exact reason the Silverado was chosen and the Tundra was not: PROVEN reliability.

Consumer Reports is still not worth my time, or my money.

Hopefully the mainstream media will report just how unreliable the Tundra is...Haven't seen anything yet from them...

Re: Consumer Reports Top 10 vehicles, Silverado!

Well NBC nightly news just did a real hit piece on American cars because of that ____hole magazine that is not worth the paper it is written on. I can only hope I live long enough to see that rag go out of business and all it's employees living under bridges on the interstate. What a garbage pail of nothing.

There was one floating around the office last week, I had to chuckle as now they were telling people which potato chips tasted the best and were the healthiest!!LOL How can people be experts in some many things and hope to get anything correct?

Useless magazine IMHO.

Re: Consumer Reports Top 10 vehicles, Silverado!

CR does do american car makers some harm with its volvo type standards of excellence. However it is a good reporter of other items like computers and peripheral gear not to mention appliances.
Its great Silverado got where it richly deserves to be on the top of the list!

Finally, good for GM. But it's too bad that CR has that power that's not earned.
I walk by it every time.

Apparently, base models of cars had to have ESC in order for CR to put those vehicles on this list. Did they apply that standard to Pickups? Does the Silverado have ESC even on the base level trims?
I still hate them because they ignore 1961 Buicks.

I believe it was mentioned that for the first time all vehicles on the list had it standard or it was easily available.

Now there's a shocker. Other than the Silverado, I think the Elantra is the only one deserving such a coveted spot.

I think the real reason the Silverado beat the Tundra was because of it's superior styling.
