Re: Complete 2007 Suburban/Yukon XL Pricing

Why are they not showing the 6-spd AT available on any of the models? Is it not available yet? GM had better not be dragging their feet on the feature that was going to bring them back up to par with the competition.

It's been available on kbb.com for at least a few days too. Even the Denali pricing is listed.

right now the 6 speed auto is only bolted to the 6.2L enigne which only come in the Escalade and Denali's.

give time for the 6 speed auto to ramp up production so that it can go into the whole lineup. I wouldnt be shocked to see this happen towards the end of this year as Toyota and Ford are making their full size SUVs with 6 speed autos.

These prices are lower than the 2006 prices. This is good value. I will be trading out of my 2005 Burb in about 18 months for one of these puppies.

Why didn't GM put the 6.0L in the Tahoe?
are they going to put it in the Tahoe?

It doesn't need it. The Tahoe with the 5.3L and 3.73 or 4.10 gears should be quite potent enough. The 3/4-ton Suburban and Yukon XL will get the 6.0L to support the higher GVWR.

Re: Complete 2007 Suburban/Yukon XL Pricing

I don't think that I would call this "complete 2007 Yukon XL pricing" since they don't have the Denali out there to spec out. That's also why the 6-speed automatic is not appearing anywhere for the Yukon XL - if you navigate back to the regular Yukon, you can click on the Yukon with the 6.2 liter V8, which is the Denali, and it shows as having a 6-speed automatic.

My parents LTZ is perfect ,lots of power with the 4:10's . I will not buy the 2500 Burban or Avalanche with a smallblock , even a 6.2 or a 7.0 . A 2500 needs a D-MAX or at least an 8100. If GM built the 900 without enough room for the Allison 6 speed in a 2500 Burban / Avalanche we have serious problems at the top .

I cant tow with a truck all the time , there better be an HD D-Max Avalanche 2500 !

WITH CLADDING!!!

Nice pricing! I though they would be more expensive than that!

Re: Complete 2007 Suburban/Yukon XL Pricing

If you want to thoroughly compare these prices with the 2006s or other SUVs, you can use my site, www.truedelta.com. I don't have the GMC data in there yet, but do have the Tahoe, Suburban, and Escalade (regular wheelbase).

Quick links to the Tahoe/Suburban and Escalade pages, which include links to the most popular comparisons:

www.truedelta.com/models/tahoe.php

www.truedelta.com/models/escalade.php

I hope to get the GMC prices in soon, but if past practice is any guide they'll be very close to Chevy prices when features are comparable.

I've driven the Tahoe. The engine deserves a few more ratios, if only to gain a shorter first gear. My full review: http://www.epinions.com/content_221122956932

Its time for us to stop waiting and start demanding. They have been talking about this transmission for 4 years now. Since then, Toyota has designed and built 5 speeds, and are now months away from building six speeds. Every review of a GM car mentioned the old 4 speed as a drawback. They are outclassed.

The new Tundra will have 6 speed automatic transmission, and if the new Chevy Silverado doesn't have it available across the line, they are going to be humiliated by both reviewers, critics, and consumers.

At this rate, GM will be one gear short by the time they do get their six speeds out across the line (which will be sometime in 2009), as everyone will have either a CVT or maybe even a 7 speed.

You bring up a good point - wasn't the 2500 series Avalanche cancelled for the 2007 model year (half ton only?) When I was daydreaming a year or two ago about what vehicle to buy to replace my wife's Saturn, getting a big block Vortec 8100 in an Avalanche 2500 had crossed my mind. I don't think one would fit in the garage either, though...
